Home sales in San Antonio for 2014 continued to be strong with September experiencing a double digit increase over last year.
The number of days that homes that sold were on the market during September was just 63 days, 6 less than 2013 according to the San Antonio Board of REALTORS® (SABOR).
San Antonio has seen an increase of 4.0 percent in the number of homes sold for the first 9 months of 2014 when compared to the first 9 months of 2013.
Coupled with the continued strong home sales, the average home sales price has also seen an increase of 9.2 percent during the same time period.

San Antonio September 2014 Home Sales
The 2,344 home sales in San Antonio for the month of September was a 13.9 percent increase when compared to the homes sales of September 2013.
SABOR noted that homes under $200,000 made up 56.1 percent of sales, with homes priced between $200,000 and $500,000 accounted for 39.4 percent of sales. Homes priced over $500,000 came in at 4.4 percent.
San Antonio September 2014 Home Sale Prices
The average home sale price, $218,300, in San Antonio increased 6.9 percent in September when compared to September of 2013.
The median home sale price, $183,500, also increased 9.0 percent during the same time period.
San Antonio September 2014 Days on Market and Absorption Rate
The inventory of available homes for sale in San Antonio for September was at 4.3 months. The number of total listings (9,000) for the month of September was the lowest they have been in the month of September since 2005.
The 4.3 months of inventory for September continues to place our inventory levels at 2006 levels.
A neutral market is 6 months of inventory with numbers above 6 months indicating a buyer’s market (more supply of homes than the demand) and numbers below 6 months, a seller’s market (more homes in demand than homes available on the market).
