Homes sales for the month of May in San Antonio were lower than they were during last May.
Despite the lower home sales, home sale prices were at their highest levels ever.
Even with the lower home sales during May, San Antonio has seen an increase of 2.3 percent in the number of homes sold for the first 5 months of 2014 when compared to the first 5 months of 2013.
Coupled with the month’s strong home sales prices, the average home sales price has also seen an increase of 7.4 percent during the same time period.
San Antonio May 2014 Home Sales
The 2,432 home sales in San Antonio for the month of May was a 4.6 percent decrease when compared to the homes sales of May of 2013.

The average home sale price, $222,300, in San Antonio increased 3.7 percent in May when compared to May of 2013.
The median home sale price, $182,000, also increased 4.1 percent during the same time period.
San Antonio May 2014 Days on Market and Absorption Rate
The inventory of available homes for sale in San Antonio for May was at 4.7 months. The number of total listings (9,560) for the month of May is about the same levels that they have been for the past year.
The 4.7 months of inventory for May also placed our inventory levels at the lowest levels since 2006.
A neutral market is 6 months of inventory with numbers above 6 months indicating a buyer’s market (more supply of homes than the demand) and numbers below 6 months, a seller’s market (more homes in demand than homes available on the market).
