San Antonio has been expanding it’s greenway trails and are yours for the exploring. They consist of a mixture of multi-use recreational trails with asphalt and concrete surfaces as well as natural surface off-shoot trails. Here is a list of the four main greenway trails:
Leon Creek Greenway – This is a 12 mile trail that stretches from Ingram Road to 1604 on the Northwest side of San Antonio. It is rated as easy with some steep slopes.
Medina River Greenway – Located in South San Antonio, this trail is 7 miles long and runs from the Medina River Natural Area to east of Old Applewhite Road. This trail is rated as easy to moderate with some steep slopes.
North Salado Creek Greenway – Discover 8.5 miles of trails on the Northeast side of San Antonio. It runs from Rittiman Road up to Huebner. The trail is rated as easy with plenty of scenery.
South Salado Creek Greenway – This 2.3 mile trail is located on the East side of San Antonio. It runs from Covington Park to South Side Lions Park. It is also rated as easy and offers views of Salado Creek.
