The San Antonio real estate market bounced back during the month of December after seeing decreased home sales and sale prices during November.
For the year, the San Antonio real estate market saw increases in home sales and sale prices while homes spent less time on the market.
San Antonio has seen an increase of 9.1 percent in the number of homes sold for 2015 when compared 2014.
The average home sales price has also been on the rise with an increase of 6.3 percent during the same time period.
The San Antonio Board of REALTORS (SABOR) reported that the number of days that homes that sold were on the market during December were at 60 days.

San Antonio December 2015 Home Sales
The month of December saw 2,270 home sales in San Antonio which was a 4.9 percent increase when compared to the homes sales of December 2014.
Home sales rebounded to over the 2,000 mark and was the most ever for the month of December in the city of San Antonio.
Homes under $200,000 made up 51.8 percent of sales, with homes priced between $200,000 and $500,000 accounted for 43.7 percent of sales. Homes priced over $500,000 came in at 4.5 percent.
San Antonio December 2015 Home Sale Prices
The December average home sale price, $233,300, in San Antonio was an increase of 5.4 percent when compared to December of 2014.
Meanwhile, the median home sale price, $194,500, also increased 6.1 percent during the same time period.
San Antonio December 2015 Days on Market and Absorption Rate
The inventory of available homes for sale in San Antonio dipped again as December finished at 3.5 months. The number of total listings (8,185) continued their pattern of increases, as the month of December saw the highest number of available homes during the month of December since 2012.
The 3.5 months of inventory was the lowest that the month of December has ever seen.
A neutral market is 6 months of inventory with numbers above 6 months indicating a buyer’s market (more supply of homes than the demand) and numbers below 6 months, a seller’s market (more homes in demand than homes available on the market).
