The west side of the city is also experiencing residential and industrial growth. Due to its close proximity to Lackland Air Force Base, the area has become an area of choice for military personnel and their families. West San Antonio has numerous multifamily dwellings and single-family residences.
Prospect Hill
Prospect Hill was one of the first communities to be built on the city’s west side. It is a historic area with homes that are more than 80 years old. The housing is modest, consisting of 2-3 bedroom dwellings built in an early-1900s to post-World War II style of architecture. The area is located a mere 36 miles from the hustle and bustle of downtown San Antonio.
