August was the second month in a row where the number of available homes for sale in the San Antonio area outnumbered those seen during the previous year.
San Antonio has seen an increase of 11.3 percent in the number of homes sold from January to August in 2015 when compared to the same time period in 2014.
The average home sales price has also been on the rise with an increase of 7.0 percent during the same time period.
The San Antonio Board of REALTORS (SABOR) reported that the number of days that homes that sold were on the market during August remained at just 50 days.

San Antonio August 2015 Home Sales
The month of August saw 2,621 home sales in San Antonio which was a 3.9 percent increase when compared to the homes sales of August 2014.
The number of home sales during the month was the highest ever for the month of August in the city of San Antonio.
Homes under $200,000 made up 51.0 percent of sales, with homes priced between $200,000 and $500,000 accounted for 44.3 percent of sales. Homes priced over $500,000 came in at 4.7 percent.
San Antonio August 2015 Home Sale Prices
The August average home sale price, $234,900, in San Antonio was an increase of 7.0 percent when compared to August of 2014.
Meanwhile, the median home sale price, $195,500, also increased 8.1 percent during the same time period.
San Antonio August 2015 Days on Market and Absorption Rate
The inventory of available homes for sale in San Antonio remains low as August finished at 4.0 months. The number of total listings (9,277) for the month of August was the second lowest that they have been in the month of August since 2006.
The 4.0 months of inventory for August was the second highest that San Antonio has seen this year.
A neutral market is 6 months of inventory with numbers above 6 months indicating a buyer’s market (more supply of homes than the demand) and numbers below 6 months, a seller’s market (more homes in demand than homes available on the market).
