The month of April saw home sales for San Antonio fail to exceed those of the previous year. This is the first time since June of 2011.
San Antonio saw an increase of 2.6 percent in the number of homes sold for 2017 when compared to 2016.
The average home sales price has remained strong with an increase of 4.7 percent during the same time period.
The San Antonio Board of REALTORS® (SABOR) reported that the number of days that homes that sold were on the market during April saw another slight decrease to just 59 days.

San Antonio April 2017 Home Sales
The month of April saw 2,621 home sales in San Antonio which was a 0.7 percent decrease when compared to the homes sales of April 2016.
Homes under $200,000 made up 44.3 percent of sales, with homes priced between $200,000 and $500,000 accounted for 50.3 percent of sales. Homes priced over $500,000 came in at 5.4 percent.
San Antonio April 2017 Home Sale Prices
The April average home sale price, $249,541, in San Antonio was an increase of 6.7 percent when compared to April of 2016.
Meanwhile, the median home sale price, $210,000, also increased 5.1 percent during the same time period.
San Antonio April 2017 Days on Market and Absorption Rate
The inventory of available homes for sale in San Antonio remains low as April finished at 3.4 months. The number of total listings (9,038) for the month of April was below the number of homes available last April.
A neutral market is 6 months of inventory with numbers above 6 months indicating a buyer’s market (more supply of homes than the demand) and numbers below 6 months, a seller’s market (more homes in demand than homes available on the market).
